Naomi's Gift by Amy Clipston

This book was provided to me by Zondervan Publishing in exchange for a review.

Book Description

Take a trip to Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, where you'll meet the women of the Kauffman Amish Bakery in Lancaster County. As each woman's story unfolds, you will share in her heartaches, trials, joys, dreams . and secrets. You'll discover how the simplicity of the Amish lifestyle can clash with the "English" way of life-and the decisions and consequences that follow. Most importantly, you will be encouraged by the hope and faith of these women, and the importance they place on their families.

Naomi's Gift re-introduces twenty-four-year-old Naomi King, who has been burned twice by love and has all but given up on marriage and children. As Christmas approaches-a time of family, faith, and hope for many others-Naomi is more certain than ever her life will be spent as an old maid, helping with the family's quilting business and taking care of her eight siblings. Then she meets Caleb, a young widower with a 7-year-old daughter, and her world is once again turned upside-down.

My Review

This is a GREAT Christmas story, one that I think you would thoroughly love especially if you love Amish Fiction as much as I do. Amy Clipston is one of the best, if not the best authors who write about the Amish. I would love to go to Ohio or Pennsylvania some day to see for myself.

This book starts out about a widower, Caleb Schmucker and his 7 year old daughter, Susie, come home to Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania. He has been widowed for 2 years and his sister, Sadie thinks that it is time that he marries again and tries to set him up, but he wants nothing of that. In the meantime, Caleb meets Naomi King, who is not married but has had bad luck with men anyway. His 7 year old daughter, Susie, loves Naomi and wants her dad to love her as much as she does. It is a GREAT story.

I would suggest this book to all my friends and families and even strangers. It is that kind of book, it is Wunderbaar. Hehe. I had to put that in there. Enjoy.

1105 Yakima Street by Debbie Macomber

This book was supplied to me by Harlequin Publishers in exchange for a review.
This is the 11th book in the Cedar Cover Series by Debbie Macomber.

This book is the 11th and final book in Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove Series, I am sorry to say. I love Debbie Macomber’s books, they are inspiring and you just feel like you are living in Cedar Cove.

This book is a GREAT book as always. It starts out with the problems between Bruce and Rachel Peyton. Bruce’s daughter from another marriage is jealous of Rachel, so when Rachel finds out she is pregnant, she leaves Bruce because she cannot stand the stress of what Jolene (Bruce’s daughter) dishes out. In the meantime, Bruce has to face reality and has to do something in order to get his wife back.

Then, as the story goes on, there are issues with Charlotte and Ben (Olivia and Will’s parents) and Olivia and Will have to come to grips with this as all of us have to do when our parents get old. Her mother is getting old (Charlotte) and Olivia has to realize she needs to move to an Assisted Living home.

This is one of the best books by Debbie Macomber, please Debbie keep them coming.

I will definitely suggest this book to my friends and family. I won’t say anything else about this book, you will love it.

Lillly's Wedding Quilt

Thomas Nelson has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book-Lilly’s Wedding Quilt.

Book Description

Local Amish schoolteacher Lilly Lapp is tired of weddings, afraid of horses, and immersed in caring for her depressed mother. But when Jacob Wyse, a handsome horse breeder from her small community rescues her from a dangerous accident, Lilly discovers a renewed interest in life and the possibility of love.

Yet Jacob has lost the one true love of his life to another man and doesn't care to expose himself to the vulnerabilities of loving again. God works to bring this unlikely pair into a sweet romance to produce a pattern of faith, which leads to the creation and comfort of Lilly's Wedding Quilt.

My Review

This book is the 2nd book in A Patch of Heaven Series by Kelly Long. This book was very good, in fact it was so good that I couldn’t put it down. Kelly Long is a GREAT Amish Author, one that I will definitely look for again.

When it starts, Lilly has to take care of her mother and is also a schoolteacher. I don’t know how anyone could do this, but the Lord gives her strength I guess. But, when Lilly comes across Jacob Wyse again, she remembers how she feels about Jacob. She has loves him from when they were children. Jacob has issues though, he still loves another woman who got married to another man. This is definitely a book you would love especially if you love the Amish as much as I do.

Both Lilly and Jacob have to realize how they feel about each other and it is GREAT how the Lord brings them together in this book.

I loved this book so much that I would most definitely suggest it to my family and friends.

When Two Hearts Meet by Janelle Mowery

This Book was sent to me by Harvest House Publishers in exchange for a Review.

Description of Book

Rachel Garrett finds that attaining her dream of becoming a nurse is fraught with peril. A deputy sheriff with a wall around his heart doesn't help matters, but when she learns why Luke Mason has barricaded his heart, her desire to heal confronts an even greater challenge. Her need of his protection from an unknown assailant might be the force that sends his wall crashing down around them.

Luke became a deputy in order to find the men who killed his father. He turns his back on God, only to run into the fiery Miss Garrett, who is a constant reminder of his lost faith. As Luke hunts for Rachel's attacker, he finds she has snared his heart. Faced with the fear of losing another loved one, he must decide whether he can learn to rely on God to save her-or run from the love both offer.

My Review

This book is the third and final book in the Colorado Runaway Series.

I love Janelle Mowery’s books so much, she is one of my favorite authors of all time. She grabs me at my heart strings and just won’t let loose. This book was like that, I laughed and cried in the places of the book. I love the way she puts bible verses in the story as well and sometimes it just makes you think about your own life.

This book is about Rachel Garrett who takes a job as a nurse in Rockdale, Colorado. She meets Luke Mason, the deputy in Rockdale. She holds a secret about her life also and finally after so many incidents that happen, she has to tell Luke about her life before she came to Rockdale.

As the story moves on, she is seen a lot with the deputy, Luke Mason. They form a friendship but he has turned his back on God and Rachel talks a lot about the Lord to him. He finally decides to listen to Rachel. This book is excellent and I would suggest this book to my family and friends.

I just want to thank Harvest House Publishers for being able to read this book and give a review on this book.
