A time of hope, redemption, and new life.

A Choice To Forgive by Beth Wiseman.
After Daniel disappeared that long-ago Christmas Eve, Lydia built a life with his brother. But now she's a widow and Daniel has reappeared, asking for forgiveness. But can she go back to her normal life with her long-lost love as her neighbor?

A Miracle for Miriam by Kathleen Fuller.
Seth is no longer the arrogant young man who shattered Miriam's confidence and broke her heart. But can he convince "plain" Miriam that she is truly beautiful to him?

One Child by Barbara Cameron.
The birth of one child forever changed the world two thousand years ago. On a snowy Christmas night in Lancaster County, another child changes the world for two very different couples.

Christmas Candles by Kelly Long
When Anna takes over for her aunt, the local midwife, Christmas night heats up with multiple deliveries, three stangers’ quilts and unexpected help from the handsome, brooking Asa Lapp.

This book has 4 short stories (Novellas)about the Amish. I love to read about the Amish and when this book was released I jumped on it. This book was released last year and they added another story to it and it was released again. I’m sure glad because it is GREAT.

I thoroughly loved it, it is a GREAT read for people who love the Amish stories as much as I do. It will bring you closer to knowing the true meaning of Christmas, I just thoroughly loved every story in the book. The stories all pertain to each other and that is very helpful also since some of the characters in the first book are in the second book and so on. You should really give this book a try, and especially since it is about Christmas in the Amish country in Pennsylvania. I love Christmas and this book just touched my heart. Thank you to Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, Barbara Cameron and Kelly Long for giving us all such a great book.

A Man's Heart by Lori Copeland

Zondervan Publishing has Provided Me with A Complimentary Copy of this Book

Jules sacrificed marriage to tend to her ailing father. Now Pop is gone, Cruz hates her, she's caring for her deceased friend's children, and her sister is furious that she's been disinherited---all while Jules is struggling to save her father's drought-stricken potato farm. How much can one woman bear? Can she ever win back Cruz's heart?

I have read a lot of Lori Copeland’s books and she is GREAT. I loved this book so much, it was very hard to put down. I laughed and cried in the book but it was worth it. Jules changes her mind twice to marry Cruz Delgado because of her selfishness. But as the book goes on, she goes to college but eventually comes home and realizes that she is in love with Cruz all those years. But, he is just not so sure about allowing his heart to love her. In the meantime, Jules loses her dad, her best friend also. It is a GREAT book, I would definitely suggest this book to everyone.

Seek Me with All Your Heart by Beth Wiseman

Emily Detweiler's family abruptly moved to Colorado after tragedy struck in Ohio. But Emily can't get far enough to escape what happened there.
David Stoltzfus is not happy when his family relocates from Pennsylvania to Colorado. Never mind that they haven't told him why. David struggles not only with this unwelcome move, but also with the fear that a health condition could keep him from living his life in full.

Emily and David each come to terms with a past that follows them, testing their faith and resolve. Will they overcome adversity and step onto the path God has chosen for them?

I loved this book so much, I can’t wait until the next book comes out. Thank you Beth for giving us such a good book. I cried and laughed in it also. The book is about families that have left Ohio and Pennsylvania to start a new life and the struggles they have when they arrive in Canaan, Colorado. It tells of the struggles between Emily Detweiler and David Stolzfus and how they overcome their problems, mentally and physically. It even draws you in as David’s aenti Kati Ann has marriage problems. It is just a GREAT book.

A Year with God by R.P. Nettelhorst

I review books for Book Sneeze.

Make this the year you let God's Word "dwell in you richly"---and marvel at the results! Each entry in this 365-day devotional features Scripture verses in which God speaks, accompanied by insights and applications to enhance your understanding. Learn what God says about hope and fear; perseverance and quitting; companionship and isolation; and more!

This is a very good Daily Devotional. From the moment you read the first devotional to the last, you can feel God’s presence, it is like God is speaking directly to you. This devotional has Scripture verses and then the explanation of the verses in our everyday life. What I like is that there is a Table of Contents and it has subjects on Hope and Fear, Love and Hate, Loyalty and Betrayal, etc. So, that way, if you are going through a rough time, you can read on that particular subject. I love this book and I would suggest everyone have this devotional. It is VERY GOOD!!

A Secret Identity by Gayle Roper

I am a reviewer for Harvest House Publishers.

Cara Bentley is raised by her grandfather to appreciate family. When she discovers—quite by accident—that he was adopted, her whole perspective changes. If he wasn’t a Bentley, who was he? If she isn’t a Bentley, who is she? She determines to find her real family. Ending up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she takes a room at the Zook family farm. When she seeks the help of attorney Todd Reasoner, the search for the truth begins in earnest. But as mysterious accidents begin to happen, Cara suspects her attempt to find out the truth is not welcome-and neither is she.

This story is very good. It keeps your interest from the start. You will fall in love with Cara Bentley, as I did. Cara Bentley is full of life and I think that is GREAT. She goes in search of her grandfather’s real family after he passes away and in the mean time, she finds love. Her brother is not in favor of her going to search for this part of their roots but she does it anyway, she is so independent. I thoroughly loved this book. I will suggest this book to everyone.

Almost Heaven by Chris Fabry

I review for Tyndale Publishers.

Billy Allman is a "hillbilly genius." Folks in town say he was born with a second helping of brains and a gift for playing the mandolin---and was cut short on social skills. But there are two things they don't know---he's troubled by a brutal secret, and an angel is determined to set things right! This book was such a good book by Chris Fabry.

This was the first book of his that I read and thought it was very good. It really makes you think about your life and I did have some problems with the book because of what Billy had to endure. There was so much hardship on Billy and when God intervenes you just know Billy is looking to God for answers. I just cried and cried in this book. When the angel speaks, you know that God is using him to help Billy. I loved the book and know that God is always working on us to trust him fully.

I would recommend this book to everyone.

The Waiting by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Jorie King has been waiting for Benjamin Zook to return home to Lancaster County so they can marry. When news arrives that Ben has been killed, Jorie finds comfort in the friendship of his brother Caleb. That friendship ripens into love, and it seems that they are meant to be together. But when the unexpected happens, their worlds are turned upside down once more. Will Jorie trust God to lead her into the arms of a new man?

This the second book in the Lancaster county Secrets series by Suzanne Woods Fisher. This book was so good as was the first book. I really felt sorry for Jori when her good friend Mary Ann passed away and then she sits and waits on Ben Zook to return from Vietnam. But, then, as the book goes along, there are different circumstances that surround her life and it is GREAT how Suzanne just helps it come together. I don’t want to spill the rest of the story. I did fall in love with Maggie and Ephraim though. Thank you, Suzanne for giving us these books.

The Least Among You-DVD

The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this DVD through Booksneeze.

Arrested during the 1965 Watts riots, Richard Kelly is sentenced to probation at an all-white seminary. The school's president encourages him to break the color line while former missionary Kate Allison remains aloof. Can janitor Samuel Benton guide Richard through racism---and away from prison? Starring Cedric Sanders, Lauren Holly, Louis Gossett, Jr., and William Devane. (PG-13.) 96 minutes.

This story is about Richard Kelly who was wrongfully accused in the 1965 Watts riots in California. For his punishment, he is sentenced to attend an all white seminary. This story was very good, in fact, I had not heard of this riot and it was a GREAT movie and very enlightening. Richard Kelly had to endure the racism in 1965 along with the faculty at the seminary who wanted him to leave. But, the Lord managed to see him through this ordeal. A Very good story, I loved it. I believe everyone should watch this dvd and have their eyes opened.

The Perfect Blend by Trish Perry

This Book was sent to me from Harvest House Publishers for my Review

Steph Vandergrift is in need of a job. She left everything behind to elope with Middleburg attorney Rick Manfred, never imagining he would stand her up at the altar. Now, hoping just to get by until she can decide what to do next, Steph thinks she’s found the perfect position at the local tea shop.
Kendall James, one of the kindest and most eligible bachelors in the area, meets Steph and proceeds to pursue her. But by the time Steph feels able to consider dating again, her runaway fiancé returns and tries to win her back. Steph is wary, but she and Rick always seemed to blend so well. Are they truly meant to be together, or does God have something else in mind?

This is the first time I have ever read any of Trish Perry’s books and this definitely will not be my last. This story is such a wonderful story. My heart just went out to Steph Vandergrift at the first, when she is jilted by her fiancé at the first of the book. But, as the story goes on, you can’t help but praise Steph for learning to go on with her life. Then, she meets someone else and life is not the same for her. I think you will love this book as much as I have.

LOL with GOD by Pam Farrel & Dawn Wilson

I review for Tyndale Books.

If a cheerful heart is good medicine, then here's a megadose! Connecting hilarity with God's timeless Word, Farrel and Wilson offer laugh-out-loud insights that will heal your frazzled soul and transform your spirit, leaving you renewed, revived, and refreshed. Avowed "texters," Pam and Dawn use the theme of sending and receiving text messages throughout the book. The offer a fresh perspective on what it's like to live in the presence of God. A Focus on the Family Resource. Paperback.

This book is a very good book for anyone who understands about texting. Even if you don’t understand about texting and using all the different symbols, it is still a great book. I thought it was very funny with some of the things that actually happen to people in everyday life. Pam Farrel and Dawn Wilson show you what things can actually happen to you every single day of your life and also how you can lean on the God also. That is oh so true because I know I need to lean on him every single day, where would we be if we didn’t do that?

I loved this devotional very much and hope everyone else does also.

Love, Charleston by Beth Webb Hart

Once upon a time, Anne Brumley heard God tell her to wait in Charleston for true love. But her sister, Della, and cousin, Alicia, have their doubts. Is Saint Michael's new rector, Roy Summerall, the answer to Anne's prayers? He's not even sure he's the answer to the church's prayers! Does God have anything to say?

This book was a really good book, but when I started it, I couldn't put it down. Once you start reading the book, it takes on a different twist. I thought it would be a highly romantic book, but it really focuses on problems in Anne Brumley's family. I thought as the story moves along, that Anne's husband treats her terrible.

It deals with Anne Brumley, her sister and her cousin and I love how the author winds them all together. This book is actually a romance, suspense and intrigue all put together in one book. I love this book so much, I definitely would recommend this to everyone. Hey, just give it a try, I will promise you that you will love it. A VERY GOOD BOOK!!!!!!

COMMON ENGLISH BIBLE-NEW TESTAMENT

The Common English Bible. This bible is a fresh translation to touch the Heart and Mind. Take a fresh look at the Bible while you experience a new translation. The Common English Bible is relevant, readable and reliable. The result is a new version that the typical reader or worshipper is able to understand. This bible has 115 leading biblical scholars from 22 denominations; Field tested by 77 reading specialists in 13 denominations; 90-day reading plan; Color Maps by National Geographic.

I read the Common English Bible. I did not particularly like it as I guess I am just old-fashioned and like the King James Bible. But, as I look at it through other people’s eyes, it would be a good bible for people who don’t understand the King James or the New International Version bible. If a person is a new Christian, it would be very helpful for that person. But, for me, it just didn’t do anything for me. I’m sorry, I just didn’t like it.

A Summer Secret

Sharing a house with six high-spirited brothers isn't easy for soon-to-be eighth-grader Mary Beth Mullet. Looking for some much-needed peace and quiet, she escapes to a neighbor's abandoned barn---but finds more than she bargained for. Someone is living there---somebody who needs help. What should Mary Beth do?

I have read a lot of Amish books for Adults. This one is the first one I have read that is for teens. It was a GREAT book by Kathleen Fuller. She is one of the best Amish writers around. Mary Beth is so frustrated having all brothers around her, that she finds a secret hiding place which she thought was only hers, until she notices things go missing. Then, she discovers that she is not alone. When she discovers who is invading her space, she becomes a very caring person. I believe anyone from age 10 and up would enjoy it. I loved it.

A Tailor-Made Bride

Jericho "J.T." Tucker wants nothing to do with Coventry, Txas's new dressmaker. He's all too familiar with her kind-shallow women more devoted to fashion than true beauty. Yet, except for her well-tailored clothing, this seamstress is not at all what he expected. Hannah Richards is confounded by the man who runs the livery. The unsmilling fellow riles here with his arrogant assumptions and gruff manner while at the same time stirring her heart with unexpected acts of kindness. Which side of Jericho Tucker relects the real man?

This book was a GREAT book. This book is written by Karen Witemeyer who captivates her audience from the first page. I believe this is her first book she has ever written and there will be more coming from her. In my opinion, she is the best. This book is funny in a lot of places and sometimes you just want to kick J.T. But then, don't we all want to kick the guys. Hehe. But, as the story goes along, you learn to understand about him. I loved Hannah, she is strong and doesn't put up with anything from him. It's a GREAT book.

Read and Share Bible DVD Review

Read and Share Bible-The Jesus Series of Life and Miracles. The author of this DVD is by Gwen Ellis and is illustrated by Steve Smallman.

This DVD is a Children's Book DVD. The story is about Jesus life from his birth to the Passover and the Last Supper. I thought it was a very good book for children from 3 years old and up. It was very well illustrated and I believe this DVD would keep the children's interest.

This story starts when Jesus was born on up to the end of the Last Supper. It showed Jesus getting baptized by John the Baptist, Jesus finding his disciples, feeding the multitudes and then to the Passover.

I thought Jesus ending words were very for children to understand which are: Love each other because God Loves You.

No Distance Too Far by Lauraine Snelling

Astrid Bjorklund wants to use her medical training to serve God and she struggles with wondering if going to Africa to be a missionary is God's will in her life. Then, she is called home to Blessing for a medical emergency in her family. She stays in Blessing, N.D. and helps her family and friends. Then, she receives a letter about an indian reservation who needs help because the indians are starving and are very ill.

This book is Book Two in the Home to Blessing Series by Lauraine Snelling. This book is one of Lauraine Snellling's best books, in my opinion. I thoroughly loved it and I didn't want to put it down.
